Getting hands on carling cup & moving on !

0

It was really good weekend from a Manchester United fan’s point of view. A win in Wembley and getting hands on the Carling the-mickey-mouse cup would certainly boost the confidence in the players and hopefully would set up the stone for many more winning moments in coming months.

The win was very vital especially for the fringe players to check their readiness for playing on the big stage on a big night and I am sure SAF would only have been happy that his players have indeed shown commitment, hunger and desire to win things. Really good work out for Ben Foster & Darren Gibson.

I am sure this will bode well for the future of United and surely the talk of possible quintaple is ON.

Quick update on Inter match ..

Woo .. the match at San-siro yesterday was very good and was particularly impressed by the performance of Ronaldo & Carrick. United played inter off the park for almost all the match barring a 15 minute spell after break from inter..

I am sure Mr Mourinho must be regretting the lost opportunity to get one up against his old foe in Ferguson and I am sure, even more than yesterday, that we will beat them at OT.

Ibramhimovic was supposed to be the best player in the world in the eyes of Mourinho, but was almost all time in the back pocket of rookie Evans. Ronaldo was obviously had a point to prove and had a fantastic match .. on any other day, he could have scored a hattrick.

Anyways, see them again in a fortnight at OT !

Weekend review & match with Inter

0

Ohh .. the weekend was really good this time !

Manchester United beat Blackburn 2-1 (yes, they leaked a goal !) and to make matters even sweeter ever dependable at home Scousers were held by Man City 1-1 at home ! So things look good now with a 7 point cushion on top of the table.

I predicted in my article earlier here that Liverpool are more likely to undergo slump than Chelsea and by God, Rafa is trying to prove me so right here ! Despite we having the lead by our side, I still think the title is not yet truly sealed and expect more twists and turns in coming days.

Starting tomorrow with the most important match to date in the season, our meeting with Inter, will be very interesting and one to look forward to. I am sad that we do not have much defensive options for this match, but I am really looking forward for Berba, Roo, Ron & Tev to combine well and give Inter a lesson.

well, not easy though, but next few weeks, rather days will define the destiny of the club and its pursue of, so called, Quintaple.

Cheers and have a great week ahead !

Let me be clear first that I am a Red Devils fan and do not want to make a fun of the recent run of form of United.

However, I have been left impressed with the resolute defending and passion of the players to hang on to the win while only a goal up against the opposition.

ManUtdOneNil I am sure that luck can favour once, twice but not so many times in a row and this is more to do with the skills of our players, resolve and mentality of ‘not to lose’ the games. This is a significant improvement from the last year when we had conceded few easy goals in some matches and won the games only because we had scored more.

I am quite sure that we would come back in form to destroy few teams in next few matches. I think the ‘start’ has happened to our main scorers of last season and almost all important players have had a goals in recent past and are hopefully ready to kick in few more each week.

I am enjoying the new found resolve in the team, but admit we must start scoring and get rid of 1-0 score line now. Who knows, it might come to the goal difference this year, as it was nearly there last year?

Liverpool’s victory and United’s title surge ..

Let me make it clear first thing, I am a Manchester United fan.

Now back to the post ! Yesterday I saw the match between Liverpool & Chelsea and for some reason I was cheering up for Liverpool win. Seems strange for a united fan to support Liverpool FC, but that’s what I did yesterday.

The simple reason for me to do so was the fact that Chelsea can still come back and challenge United for the championship.. they could do that as they are a very strong team.  However, with regards to Liverpool, they are a team whose performance is as unpredictable as the English weather!  On the other side, the record breaking United side has gone on to set up a new English league record for not conceding a goal in the league for longest time :-) So for teams playing with United, forget winning, they can not even score !

Liverpool would play Portsmouth (A), Manchester City (H) & Middlesbrough (A) up next in the three matches in Premier league and I am backing them to lose points on at least one of the matches. While Manchester United play West ham (A) , Fulham (H) & Blackburn (H) in next three and I expect them to win all of them.

United are two points ahead of Liverpool as of now and with a game in hand at home.

Squeaky bum time is surely ahead .. watch out :-)
