Wear your ‘twikini’ while twittering from mobile !
1Ok ! Let me admit, I am writing this blog post, in all honesty, to get a free copy of probably the best twitter client available for Windows Mobile phones.
I used ‘twikini’ quite a lot when it was beta and I certainly liked it. It is simple and just works !
You can check a quick screen shot on this page and many more of them when you click on the image on the left.
More information on this product is available on the following URL of Twikini Software Makers !

The quote from the Twikini website just about sums this good product up.
Twikini offers a powerful and efficient way to use Twitter on your phone. It conveniently updates your favourite feeds in the background, and leverages the camera, GPS, media, touch screen, keyboard, graphics and storage capabilities of your device
I think this is under continuous development and the version 1.0 has been release to public.
Wishing the guys over there good luck and keep the great products coming !!

So, here is my own list of top applications or must have’s on windows mobile pocket pc. This is no particular order and I like all of them and use them regularly
Skype for Pocket PC
Skype recently released a new update (version 3.0) to the Skype software for Pocket PC and its worth installing if you are a regular Skype user.

Another cool application if you are a regular facebook user. Although its in the beta status, still very useful though. You might want to visit the XDA-developers or PPCGeeks site to get the latest installable.

Ideal windows phone design .. dual slide out mobile?
1I have been thinking recently about a phone that has dual slide keyboard horizontal as well vertical. I am not a mobile phone designer and I do not know how I can actually design this properly using an appropriate tool, but here is my vision (though vague) and I tried to show it via a simple Power point tool.
The coolest part of this will be the dual slide out keyboard that you can use as per your needs. The vertical slide down will give you normal number pad and T9 input. The slide left will pop out a full QWERTY keyboard with the landscape mode on the screen.
I love Windows Phone (aka Windows mobile) so I would like to see this to be the windows mobile phone
Also, I do not know how this will work out in terms of actual design, but I would absolutely love this kind of design if at all it comes to the market.
Let me know what you think of this? Do you find this cool or .. absolutely useless?
Windows mobile release schedule leaked?
0Finally some more information coming out of wild with regards to Windows Mobile and its future roadmap. Now, as per Mary Jo Foley on ZDNet blogs, Microsoft’s planned upgrade of Windows Mobile 6.1 to 6.5 and subsequent 7 will be as per following phases,
- Windows Mobile 6.5 RTM (release to manufacturing): April 2009
- First Windows Mobile 6.5 devices from cell phone makers: September 2009
- Windows Mobile 7.0 release to testers: November 2009
- First Windows Mobile 7.0 devices from cell phone makers: April 2010

I am seriously hoping that windows mobile 6.5, coming up by Sep-09, will provide much better finger touch control over the menus and functions, otherwise, as
people are saying, it might be too little & too late for Microsoft especially as Apple is preparing the iPhone 3G 2.0 & Android is making inroads across industry !
And also, there are reports and news coming out in the Tech World that the management of Zune & Microsoft Media Centre team have joined the Win Mo team, which are good omens.
My new mobile and Windows mobile 6.5
0I have been wanting to buy a new mobile phone since last so many months … but have not been able to buy one so far
First I wanted to go for an iPhone, but settled with buying an iPod touch instead and then with the experience I got from iPod touch, I decided against going for iPhone and realigned my interest in the WinMo based devices. I have read several reviews on the phones and finally settled my thinking around three devices, Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1, Samsung Omnia and finally the beast itself HTC Touch HD. After doing a round of reviews of same on phonearena, mobileburn and so many other notable sites, I have now settled myself to buy HTC Touch HD.
Enter the rumours of Windows Mobile 6.5! Now I have been wanting to wait for the mobile world congress at Barcelona where Microsoft supposedly will be unveiling the mask over WinMo 6.5 operating system. I have seen quite a few pictures on XDA-developers site and I have been quite impressed with the way this would change the usability of Windows from current not-so-touch-friendly windows mobile 6.1 version that runs on above mentioned devices. I especially like the idea of having scrollable honeycomb app launcher.
What encourages me is the fact that there have been mentions of potential ROM cookers on XDA-developers & Modaco about eventually porting the WinMo 6.5 on the HTC Touch HD. So hopefully if my resilience to keep away from buying mobile gives up over my wish to buy one, I would be having the new toy with me by end of next week. Otherwise, I would definitely wait for mobile world congress to get over and see what the blokes at Microsoft gives us in terms of WinMo 6.5 !
Meanwhile you can enjoy the information on the HTC Touch HD on the following links.
